平明走马上村桥，花落梅溪雪未消。
译文：天色刚明，我们骑马送你到村口桥头。大雪连下几日积雪未消，枝头的梅花花瓣随风飘落，随着水流而去。
注释：平明：犹黎明。天刚亮的时候。走马：骑马疾走；驰逐。
日短天寒愁送客，楚山无限路迢迢。
译文：冬日昼短夜长，天寒地冻。在这黎明时分你离去，心中万般不舍啊。那绵延无际的楚山，想着路途遥远，沿途险阻，不得不为你担心。

贾岛（779～843年），字浪（阆）仙，唐代诗人。汉族，唐朝河北道幽州范阳县（今河北省涿州市）人。早年出家为僧，号无本。自号“碣石山人”。据说在洛阳的时候后因当时有命令禁止和尚午后外出，贾岛做诗发牢骚，被韩愈发现其才华。后受教于韩愈，并还俗参加科举，但累举不中第。唐文宗的时候被排挤，贬做长江主簿。唐武宗会昌年初由普州司仓参军改任司户，未任病逝。
